Nestled in the parking lot of a city park I ran across this un-restored 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk that was just begging to be photographed. For those who are unaware, this was first year of the Silver Hawk series of ‘ hawks’ replacing the Sky Hawk, Flight Hawk, and Power Hawk .

The Silver Hawk was a non supercharged model unlike the Golden Hawk which included a bulging hood to accommodate the supercharger. There were three choices of engine at the time, a 6 cylinder, a 259 cid V8, or a 289 V8. The one I found here has the 289 ,the lucky dog , complete with 4 barrel carburetor.

As stated this car was largely un-restored, the paint was ok but faded. I suspect some body damage did happen at some point as some of the panels had a wavy look. Even so it was a good looking car with all the chrome in excellent condition. The interior was in great condition for a 55 year old car but the seats were upholstered. The dash is un-cracked and the chrome bits shine.

That’s about all the rambling I have for you, enjoy the photos. Happy Hunting! :)
